Climb Newcastle - ASBO '10 Results
The Climb Newcastle Annual Spring Boulder Open (ASBO '10) took place last Friday night with an incredible turn out of competitors and spectators.
During the day nearly 200 competitors fought with 35 testing black problems, including some technical nightmares - particularly a chimney that took most of the skin off one competitor's back and had a few people's pants (quite literally) down!
With 5 male and 5 female competitors going through to the evening's final, the scores were tight for qualification, made tougher by junior Nathan Phillips and Joe Wilson who invaded north from Leeds taking the top spots in the men's. Adam Young, Micky Stainthorpe and Ged Mac made up the rest of the male field. In the females, Joanne Quinan, Holland's Fred Blok, Kate Watson and Rosie Helmore were joined by youngster Beth Walton. It was great once again to see juniors in both the male and female finals, taking advantage of the level playing field of the same problems for all categories.

New Members Meet at Bowderstone
The New Members Meet is this weekend, 14th - 16th May. I'll be up there on Friday, so the hut will be available from Friday evening
There is accommodation for 20'ish and currently we have 7 going - check the meets forum for the latest.
There's no agenda, it depends on who goes and what the weather's like.
If the weather's cruddy, there are some important holes to be dug in the hut's surrounds (don't ask!) - which is Neil Cranston's main reason for going up there.
