What if I'm an absolute beginner?

If you're an absolute beginner you're welcome to come along with a friend if they're a member, or an experienced climber if you're both wanting to join the club too and learn with them, that's the way clubs have successfully worked for decades.

If you've no experience at all and you don't know anyone else to climb with, what we'd suggest is that you go on a short course to pick up the basics and then you'd be more than welcome to come along to our meets. There are several places nearby where you can go on a beginners course; The Berghaus Wall in Eldon Square, Rock Antics in Newton Aycliffe and Sunderland Climbing Wall

The reason we suggest the short course to beginners is because the club is not set up to teach climbing and modern legislation requires things like insurance, etc..
