Weather's looking OK at the moment with the possibility of light showers.

I'm planning on leaving between 4 and 4.30 and can offer lifts up there (Regents Centre Metro)

I thought Simonside was closed earlier in the year, Ive checked the National Park website and the BMC RAD, but no info there. Where did you find the closure dates Rob.

I fancied Simonside, but if not, I will probs go to Ravensheugh.

NMC newsletter Says Simonside has a 28 day closure on it covering 2/7. Not listed on the CRoW site either and I've yet to locate an online reference for it. I *think* they have to post notices at the site so if it is in place, I'd expect to see a notice at the forestry car park... since we have to walk past one to get t'other you/we can decide on the night.

Francois > OK, catch a Metro on the airport line (green) takes about 15 minutes from central station. When you come out of Regents Centre metro (underneath a canopy) there is a small car park immediately on your right - I'll be there at 4.30pm, Silver Skoda estate car. Have you got a mobile number?

Yeah, I checked the CROW website as well, it just says on there that signs will be in place if the site is closed.

I'll be at Regent Centre at 4.30 as well. Just 5 mins from Kenton. If any more peple wanting lifts, we can take 2 cars up from Regent Centre.

I'm going back to Gateshead afterwards so I can drop you off Francois. Or Andrew can if he takes his car. I'm sure a few people will return back to Newcastle direction.

Alternative Venue?

Is anyone interested in going somewhere else and joining again at the pub?

This is because I find a 50 min walk in on a Wednesday night rather long.
Maybe going to Corbys or bouldering at Redheugh instead?
