5/6 July - Trip to Kyloe 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago
I'm failry optimistic (desperate??) that the weather will be georgeous this weekend.

We are planning to go to Kyloe and make a day of it - mostly climbing, with some sunbathing and a bit of a picnic.

The preferred day is Saturday, but depending on weather it might have to be Sunday. Would be nice for people to join to make it more sociable. No weirdos please

I'll post the final plan nearer the weekend.

I'm looking to climb somewhere on Saturday. Probably not Kyloe. Reasons: been there loads, it's sandstone, it's an hour away, want to climb some more limestone, preferrably sport routes to up my grades quick, I can drive down south to some crags in an hour as well, some different crag I've never been or not often go.

Having said all that, the forecast is not brilliant for most of England for Saturday. So I fancy Newton Aycliffe wall or Kendal wall. Any wierdos to join me!

Forecast is ok for up there for the weekend, it's one of the driest bits of England after all. If you're looking for some non-sandstone and sport what about North Berwick Law?

North Berwick Law, is that the same as Traprain Law? Ive been there once and it's a really good crag (just went to the trad bit, so don't know about the sport quarry).

Traprain Law is quite high (about 20- 25 metres) for single pitch and the rock is similar to borrowdale volcanic, so it has a mountain crag feel about it, even though it is roadside with a 2 minute walk in. Good place to go for a change, only about an extra 45mins on Kyloe.

Unfortunatley I cant climb this weekend anyway! so I'll just shut up now!

2 minute walk-in for a mountain crag. Smashing! Do you get dropped off by chopper? There's heli-skiing already. How about heli-climbing? I'm sure Alan Hinkes done a little of that in the HImalayas.
