whin crags 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
This is really for young Johnny Dal…

I gave him a ring last week and he answered from Dunstonboubrgh, bugger, Dunstanb.Castle, at the bottom of the crag. We talked briefly, mostly about a curry. Well he said it looked reasonable, the crag. I never went there, although I knew it had been climbed on, thought it looked awful, from a distance mind. Well, John what were your conclusions? And, did anyone take up the cudgels with those two excellent looking whin crags above Kyloe? Again I know they’ve been looked at by experts, who I gleaned, thought the angle too low. Again, I never visited, but drove up there a couple of years ago. There’s got to be something, and the north crag looked steep.

Perhaps we're spoiled for choice in the North.

Dunstanbugger Crag?

good name

Dunstanburgh Crag? Are we talking about the sea cliff thing on the north side of the headland?

As I recall it's usually covered in birds - and stuff that used to in birds.. didn't look very appetising at all. And the English Heritage warden was a bit scary to

The bit to the left is covered in birds, like Cullernose, the bit to the right, which you can reach at high tide, has very few nests and would be ok outside the season. You would ab off the top. There are lots of lines.
